1974's Rey Del Bajo was Bobby Valentín's penultimate album for Fania before launching his own Bronco label. Frankie Hernández returned to Bobby's band to join Marvin Santiago as co-lead vocalist on the project. The opening track is a rock solid remake of the Tito Rodríguez standard "Hay Craneo" sung by Marvin. Bobby tips his cap to another Mambo King with his arrangement of Tito Puente's composition "Cuando Te Vea", sung by Frankie.
