Video
(CPP Media 127),
Description:
Growing up in Miami enabled Mr. Silverman to absorb the Afro-Caribbean rhythms that were intrinsic to the area. He developed a style of playing that incorporated typical Cuban rhythms applied to the drumset. He lives in Los Angeles where he performs and teaches. He's a contributing writer for "Modern Drummer" magazine. Covered here are five Afro-Caribbean dance rhythms: cha cha cha, mambo, songo, bolero, and merengue. In this video, each rhythm is explained thoroughly and is performed by a quintet. This video is also a complement to his book, "Practical Applications, Part 1" TL#12917. 90 minutes.
