Larry Harlow was one of earliest signees to the newly formed Fania label in the mid-'60s. He became a key player with the company, recording over 20 albums in his own name, producing recordings for others and helping create the internationally famous Fania All Stars. 1982's Yo Soy Latino was his parting shot for Fania on which "The Marvellous Jew", as Harlow was nicknamed in the '70s, asserts his Latin credentials. Lead vocals are supplied by the magnificent voice of sonero Nestor Sánchez, making his last album appearance with the bandleader.
