This is a great album, though on the first couple of numbers, the sound quality is not up to par with the other new remasters in the series. Contains the Chiquitín García classic “Mi Musica,” which is a manifesto of sorts, claiming that Latinos must stick with their music and forget that rock and roll. People, this album is chock full of goodies: The peppy pachanga “Festival En Guararé”, the fun merengue “Salve Sabrosa”, and the Spanish-tinged “Esos Ojitos Negros” (get a look at that Spanish maja with the fan and veil on the cover – yikes!). Pellin and Montañez sing their hearts out as usual, the band is cooking, and it ends with a true standout, the heavy Afro-Cuban palero masterpiece in miniature, “Irimo.”
