With a wall of fire and power that matches or exceeds his last superb CD, Edwin y Su Son, Edwin Bonilla raises the bar for Salsa Dura releases for 2002. Each cut is a well-crafted dance tune that leaves a billowing cloud of smoke behind.
Jesús "El Niño" Pérez does a terrific job on vocals (he's on tres and flute, too).
Edwin's congas are red-hot, as well. Although every cut here swings, his eight minute Recordando La Descargas, a homage to the sizzling Cuban descargas of the late '50s, is pretty remarkable, and should not be missed.
