This is my favorite Gerardo Rosales CD to date. Mr. Rosales, a superb arranger and bandleader, has been known to explore the folkloric rhythms of South America, as well as for his fusing of Latin jazz with salsa. But on this release, he remains true to salsa with a capitol “S.”
For this project he pursued his dream of traveling from his native country, Venezuela, to the salsa capital of the world, New York, and work with some of this city’s best known salsa musicians; artists of renown like Frankie Vazquez, Luisito Quintero, Ralphy Irizarry, Rubén Rodriguez and others.
