Encuentro, a live performance in Puerto Rico by Ruben Blades, Juan Luis Guerra and Robi Dräco Rosa opens with the deeply beautiful “Bachata Rosa” as performed by Mr. Guerra. The three singers take turns performing their hits, and, when Mr. Blades takes on Pedro Navaja, it is something quite special. The show, by the way, is in Spanish with English subtitles.
There are between song interludes where the singers reminisce about their lives. This part is very well edited, and the sense of connection between the stars is established.
As with all of the Banco Popular shows, Encuentro is a superb production with great music. This one has interesting stories as well.
