Wonderfully designed book/CD package, re-introducing this sister vocal group (originally a trio) popular in Cuba in the late ‘30s and ‘40s, and later, in New York, through the ‘50s. They performed with Ernesto Lecuona, Rafael Hernandez, Trio Matamoros, Josephine Baker, Vicentico Valdes and many others.
This new release, their first in 37 years (!) brings Trini and Nerza Marquez to the fore once again. Here they are backed by a warm and respectful band featuring Paquito D’Rivera, Alex Alvear, David Oquendo and Chinchillita Machado.
