Dan Den has its own sound, based around the instantly identifiable keyboard figures of Alfonso, repeating, shuffling, and always moving the rhythm forward. Pasión is a nice little record, featuring the singers Barbarita Fernandez and Dayron Martin, and once the coros and breaks kick in everything sounds good. Like the majority of new Cuban records Pasion isn’t suffering from the highest fi, but that’s also the price of admission. Recommended. (Peter Watrous, 2004-06-21)
