The All Stars from the former Tito Puente Orchestra unleash their swinging big band rhythms on the packed house of the 2003 San Sebastian Jazz Festival.
The fat, rich, complex compositions are made lean and mean by the intensity of the band led by keeper-of-the-flame timbalero José Madera.
Ray De La Paz is a monster power-house of a singer and he is in full command of Tito Rodriguez's mambo "El Que Se Fue" and Puente's classic cha chá "El Cayuco."
Even without the huge banner of El Rey hanging behind the orchestra, Tito Puente's contribution to this music is ever present here; a huge force and quality that has a life of its own.
After a sizzling "Babarabatiri," a new set begins led by maestro Eddie Palmieri who, for the next five compositions, captivates this audience.
