Just in -- the latest from Puerto Rico's grand ol' ambassadors of salsa. Good straight-ahead pure dance salsa. The Combo never took themselves too seriously -- a good thing. And their humour, as in "Mi Gorda Bonita," adds a levity that balances the harder stuff like "El Matrimonio" and the rockin' "Para Querer Un Te Quiero" -- one of the best tracks here.
El Gran Combo hardly disappoints. I was talking to a customer just a moment ago who said that when all else fails, he always goes back to El Gran Combo. Agreed -- these veterans are a good bet.
