What a goofy, time specific recording. Bataan’s back, and it doesn’t sound like he ever left. The chugging bass, the keyboard montunos, the vibrato in his voice, the electric guitar all scream out 1972, mixing funk and Latin music, guitar and güiro. That being said, this is pretty great party record. Put it on and you get all the urban sound you could possibly want, two chord vamps, spacey lyrics, synth sweeps, handclaps and Bataan’s unforgettable foggy voice. Makes you feel good and therefore...
