Import CD (Unicornio 9049), Released 2005;
Editor's Pick:
Hey, here’s an idea! Let’s start a Cuban boy band. Aren’t boy bands popular in America? Sure they are, sure. So let’s put on some makeup on the boys, take some pictures, write some pan Caribbean material, and some straight up pop, add a bit of distorted rock guitar to timba intros. Since one of the kids was a singer from Charanga Habanera, we’ll get him to sing a tune he sang in the group. Cool!!!! We’re set. There’s even some trip hop-ish stuff. All that being said, the boys can sing, and the production is pretty ok, so for what it is, i.e. obvious.
Highly Recommended, even if it makes me wish they'd cut the whatever and make a killing timba record, with or without makeup. (Peter Watrous, 2005-09-22)
