Mmmmm…There are those of us who love Azuquita, for his gruff voice, and his time, and his choice of material. All that’s in evidence here, in a handful of tunes arranged by Sonny Bravo and Lucho Cueto, among others. Azuquita sounds great, floating gracefully over the band, which at times includes violins and baritone saxophone. There’s even a Peruvian song — that allows him to stretch in a different way. Pure swing, pure joy.
