Important material for the collectors and musicologists out there. This is rare vintage footage — and it looks it — of pianist-composer-bandleader Ray Pérez and his orchestra from various televised specials like "El Show De Fantastico" out of Venezuela. The performances are all from 1981 or 1982 with the exception of "Me Lo Digo" which was dug up from 1975. Keep in mind that some of the footage is of pretty bad quality — and on occasion some attempts were made to cover the defects with cheesy video effects. But when the mouths or instruments don't even come close to matching the audio, it's no use even pretending. That said, it is important that this material be available. If you can get past the lo-fi issue, you can get a real sense of the richness and soul of Pérez' work. This band rocks. And his singers — Aldemario Palacio and Manny Bolaños — are first class salsa vocalists.
