The veteran Venezuelan singer puts out a strong dance recording, his first, backed by a big horn section. He’s worked with most of the major bands in Venezuela, and looks to Fania for a big part of his sound; not a bad thing at all. He wrote the material, and produced the album, and what comes out is smooth, real salsa, the sort that you’d love to hear in a club. When he digs in and starts tossing off lines, the music really takes off — check out the tune "Psicosis."
