Commercial romantic salsa with all the trappings – cheesy synthesizer, funk bass, R&B stylings, machine-made stock arrangements that could be cribbed from any number of big label heart-throb acts. The vocals are way over the top, with annoying warbling hic-coughs and quaverings that make me think of pop soul more than real salsa – a turn off in my book. Still, it is danceable, and perhaps those that like their Latin to be flashy, romantico, and frothy will enjoy “Tiempo De Amor.” I tried to like this, but Elvis should leave the building.
