In addition to the smoking new salsa dura romp “Candela”, the sparkling Cecilia gives us several covers of classic salsa, mambo, and cha, breathing new life into them all over again with the infectious magnetism, joy, and life-force of her spirit. She also revisits some of her own signature sounds, only making them harder, bigger, and more real. There is also a hot Spanglish merengue, a sultry bolero, and touches of timba, cumbia, Latin Hustle, and of course boogaloo. But mostly there is just great, full-blast straight up salsa brava.
