Editor's Pick:
Watch out, folks, here's the debut release from percussionist Morist Jimenez Jr., son of the Colombian tombonist extraordinaire. It's a crisp pop salsa number that features some of the best Colombian players: bassists Alex Duque, Ricardo and Martinez, pianist Pablo Grajales, trumpeter Dante Vargas, Morist Jimenez (dad) on trombone and others. Junior plays all percussion, and plays it well. The band is fronted by a handful of fresh vocalists: Bryan Gonzalez, Freddy Cardenas, Fernando Vargas with some guest singers, too: Tommy Ruiz and Javier Merino. This one will not disappoint. Perfect dance party material, and Highly Recommended. (BP, 2010-01-29)
