What a terrific surprise. This lush and totally intoxicating album explores both the jazz and classical aspects of this virtuoso violinist. Listen to his take on the classic Rafael Hernandez composition "Capullito de Aleli" with guest conguero Giovanni Hidalgo. Wow, how great is that? The whole project is chock full of great moments, made even more special by guests Michael Camilo, Kenny Barron and Bucky Pizzarelli. Even the great Cachao, who Brito recorded with on two Grammy winning projects, is in on this session. Listen to the musical dialog on "A Las Cuatro De La Maņana." It's a rare and amazing thing that happens there. Is the the last Cachao recording, I wonder? Also with percussionist Edwin Bonilla, a string section, guitarist Tomatito, drummer Ignacio Berroa, bassists Eddie Gomez and Eddy "GuaGua" Rivera, and more. This one is a killer. Britos must have been touched by the divine, ...check out his "Micro Suite Cubana," a rumba vignette with Hidalgo, and a fitting finale. Recorded in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Miami.
