Maikel Blanco (who now seems to be spelling his name "Maykel") continues to generate steam-roller excitement in timba circles. Some of his influences, especially Los Van Van , are evident in tracks like "Se Acabó El Amor" and the fiery "Publicalo." It's all very good, and tracks like "Pari Parara" are guaranteed dance club favorites. I especially like "Pa' Cualquiera" and the pan-Caribbean feel of the title track "Soy Lo Que Te Hala," possibly one of the best feel-good party tracks of the year. Blanco, a pianist, has some really good singers fronting his band. They are Yordys Larazabel, Pavel Delgado, and Yaser Ramos. Also with Alexander Abreu on trumpet.
