Best of 2011 Award Winner The ecclectic Chévere de la Salsa is back, and, as expected, with style. After the critical acclaim of Love, his tribute to Nat King Cole, Delgado returns to his Cuban roots and reminds us of what he does best: Cuban dance music informed by both traditional roots and popular culture. This singer tapped into the fertile Cuban soil and found a rich mix of styles. Salsa, timba, urbano and even bachata are all utilized by Delgado, who is joined here by special guests La India, Manolín, Gente de Zona, El Micha and others. With superb arrangements by Alain Pérez and Isidro Infante. One of the more popular tracks, "Salsa, Timba y Amor" is worth the purchase of this album alone, but there are no weak spots on Supercubano. I can think of only a few singers who have acheived the level of artistry that Delgado has. They know that in Cuba, and it's time the rest of the world caught on. Very highly recommended.
