Richie and Bobby have the distinction of having released the first ever album on the Vaya label, a subsidiary of Fania Records, in 1971. The twosome became evangelical Christians in the mid-'70s, and in addition to making specifically religious recordings they proselytized through their "regular" salsa albums.
